Covington County E911 Remodel Project

To the Citizens of Covington County.

For the last couple of years or so, our board, our consultant and our architecture team have been working on a plan to complete a remodel project for our local E911 Office/Communications Center. This project is one of a vast and meticulous nature as there are a lot of moving parts required to get this accomplished. At our Regular Monthly E911 Board Meeting, held on February 14, 2025, the lowest bid to do the construction project was awarded to Wyatt Sasser Contracting.  

This means that moving forward you may see a lot of activity in and around our location. The construction company will likely set up an office trailer in the parking lot as well as several pieces of machinery and vehicles connected with the project. 

Part of the project involves remodeling the front of our office building to bring about a newer and modern looking façade. 

We are bringing this to your attention because over the next few months There will be some noise, dust and potentially some unsightly rubble in and around our property. We would ask that you, “Pardon Our Progress”, as this remodel is going on. We also bring this to your attention because you have a right to know. 

I would also like to reassure you that as this construction project commences, we will be diligent to answer every call both general and emergency. It is our expectation to not miss one single call during this project’s life cycle. There will be times when we will have to allow power outages in some power transfers as well as data transfers but be assured that our number one chief priority is meeting the needs of our partners and citizens.
